For the first time in Siem Reap, the CKS Library and the American Corner Siem Reap are organizing a book fair that will be open to the public on June 25, 2022 at the CKS Campus at Wat Damnak, Siem Reap from 7:00am to 7:00pm.
Ms. Chhor Sivleng, Head of the CKS Library, shared that the theme for this book fair is “Begin Reading with Us” and is aimed towards encouraging youth, students, and the public to expand their knowledge by reading books.
Ms. Chhor explained that, “The Siem Reap Book fair that we are organizing for the first time will be attended and supported by around 30 authors, publishers, educational institutions, libraries, and bookstores. We want this event to be an educational and cultural platform that brings a community of scholars, reading lovers, and the public together in order to share their knowledge and inspire each other to make reading a habit.”
In addition to the exhibition of booths with discount book sales and other special offers, the Siem Reap Book Fair will also host other activities including a presentation about creating good reading habits among Cambodian youth, a panel discussion on local and foreign academic scholarships, a children’s book park, a classical folk dance performance, a Chapei Dong Veng performance, games, book donations, and much more.

Quach Library, Salariin Kampuchea Learning Center, Thy Seavphov Bookstore & Café, Scholar Library, Tompoa Bookstore & author of Extraordinary People of Cambodia, Kutisvara Women’s Network, Joint Public Information Center, Heart Books Cambodia, Angkor University, Khmer Writers Association, The Bean Embassy.
