Research Affiliation Offer
The Center for Khmer Studies(CKS) provides research affiliation to scholars and researchers whose research is in the field of CKS’s interest, such as social sciences, arts, humanities, history, and culture in Cambodia. This program is designed to foster academic exploration and collaboration without limitations on nationality or academic qualifications.
Eligibility
- Field of Study: Open to research topics within social sciences, arts, or the humanities, focusing on Cambodia.
- Nationality: Researchers from all countries are welcome to apply.
- Educational Background: Academic degrees are not restricted; individuals at all stages of their academic or professional careers are eligible.
Benefits of Affiliation
- Access to CKS’s facility in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh: working space and internet. (Office space in Phnom Penh is limited during summer months.)
- Access to resources in CKS’s library physically and virtually.
- Receipt of a letter of certification from CKS vouching for your research activity in Cambodia for your grant applications or field research conducted in Cambodia.
- There are opportunities to share your research through CKS platforms, including giving a guest presentation and disseminating publications based on your research during your affiliation.
- Visa extension support as relevant and upon request.
Responsibilities of Affiliated Researchers
- Conduct research that aligns with the specified fields of study and contributes to understanding Cambodia’s social, cultural, or historical context.
- Share findings through presentations, publications, or other forms of dissemination.
- Respect the ethical guidelines and cultural sensitivities associated with research in Cambodia.
- Payment of a small affiliation fee based on the duration of the affiliation with CKS.

Application Process
Interested individuals are invited to submit the following form. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and the CKS Fellowship Committee will typically notify applicants within two weeks of submission.
All fields are required. Acceptable attachments include pdf, doc, or docx less than 5MB each.
