The Center for Khmer Studies’ (CKS) is an independent research center working to support research and teaching in the social sciences and humanities. Since our founding in 1998, CKS has aimed to foster understanding of Cambodia and the Mekong region through a variety of research and education programs.

Based in the CKS Phnom Penh office, the Program Administrator is responsible for ensuring that CKS programs operate at a premium standard.

Phnom Penh Office Management (30% time)

  • Accounting related tasks: Responsibilities include maintaining administrative and accounting files, estimating and requesting monthly expenses, paying CKS monthly bills, etc.
  • Administration and logistics related tasks: Responsibilities include translation, overseeing housekeeper and guards, interacting with relevant national authorities for administrative and human resource obligations, legal authorizations, communicating with relevant suppliers for procurement needs, etc.

Program Management Support (70% time)

  • Managerial support to donor funded projects: Responsibilities include accounting and budget control, drafting of contracts, liaising with donors and research project teams, reporting support, liaising with local authorities, overseeing contractors’ payments, and project administration.
  • Program logistical support: Responsibilities include overseeing the logistics and facilitation of national and international student group visits to significant sites in Cambodia

Skills: Excellent written and spoken English and Cambodian, knowledge of office management procedures, basic accounting experience, project management experience, and MS Office expertise.

Education and experience: BSc/BA in office administration, business administration or other relevant field. Proven experience as an office administrator, assistant, or similar. A minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred, but young talent are encouraged to apply too.

Competitive salary package will be provided based on qualifications and experience.
