Center for Advanced Study (CAS)
An independent, non-political Cambodian institution devoted to research, education and public debate on issues affecting the development of Cambodian society. CAS provides research services, develops research projects, and promotes the use of evidence-based policy.

Co-operation Committee for Cambodia (CCC) Resource Center
Membership organization for NGOs working in Cambodia which publishes and sells directories listing all NGOs operating in the country. Its resource center has books on history, culture, women’s issues, environment, human rights and community development.

Documentation Center of Cambodia (DC-CAM)
An independent Cambodian research institute that has an extensive collection on the Khmer Rouge and genocide studies.

Ecole Française d’Extrême-Orient (EFEO)
One of the oldest research institutions conducting research in Southeast Asia, holds lectures in Siem Reap on topics related to art history, architecture, archaeology, anthropology with Cambodian and international guest speakers.

Mekong River Commission Library (MRC)
An organization bringing together Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand in an effort to manage and develop the economic potential of their shared resource, the Mekong River.  Includes information and research on sustainable development, agriculture, water use, environment, etc.

NGO Forum

The NGO Forum on Cambodia is a membership organization for local and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working in Cambodia for the purpose of sharing information, debate and advocacy on priority issues affecting Cambodia's development.

Amrita Performing Arts

 

AMRITA collaborates with the artists of the Cambodian Ministry of Culture and freelance artists in researching and producing professionally staged traditional and classical performances both in Cambodia and abroad, while developing and encouraging artists' expressive potential in contemporary theater, dance and music through workshops, curriculum- building initiatives, regional exchange programs and international tours.

 

Bophana Audiovisual Resource Center

 

The Audiovisual Resource Center has adopted several missions: collection of the images and sounds of the Cambodian memory and making them available to a wide public, training Cambodians in the audiovisual professions by welcoming foreign film productions and by its own artistic projects. The first objective consisting of protecting the national audiovisual heritage was initiated in 2005, while the two other objectives are currently in process.

Cambodia Living Arts

Cambodian Living Arts works to support the revival of traditional Khmer performing arts and to inspire contemporary artistic expression through arts education, mentorship, networking opportunities, education, career development, and income generating projects for master performing artists who survived the Khmer Rouge as well as the next generation of student artists.

 

Gecko Environment Center

 

The Gecko is a floating environment center located in Siem Reap Province on the Tonle Sap lake, Cambodia. It is based in Chong Khneas commune, a floating fishing village which changes locations with the seasonal rise and fall of the Tonle Sap lake.

 

Institute for Khmer Traditional Textiles (IKTT)

 

IKTT was founded by Kikuo Morimoto in order to restore the tradition of Khmer textiles, to preserve the cultural heritage of Cambodian textiles and pass it on to the younger generation and to revive the promising textile industry and foster the related cottage industries such as raising silkworms and weaving. 

 

OSMOSE

 

Osmose has developed programs aiming to link the preservation of the water bird colonies and the environment on the Tonle Sap Lake with the sustainable development of the local communities, focusing on conservation, eco-tourism and education.

Reyum Institute of Arts and Culture

A forum for research, documentation, preservation and promotion of Cambodian arts and culture. Through exhibitions, events, and publications, Reyum aims to stimulate an exchange of ideas, while fostering creative expressions and encouraging further research. All activities presented by Reyum are free and open to the public.

Sam Veasna Center for Wildlife Conservation (SVC)

SVC develops activities to promote wildlife conservation through hosting public events and lectures for Cambodians and foreigners, developing interpretive material and a resource library on topics relating to Cambodia's environment and training Cambodians in bird identification and how to lead small scale bird excursions.

 

Sovanna Phum

 

Sovanna Phum (which means Golden Era) is an independent Khmer art association in Phnom Penh. The aims are to revive, preserve the treasures of Khmer culture (Shadow Puppet Theatre, Classical Dance, Folk Dance, Traditional Music, Theatre and Circus) and promote to local and international audiences. Sovanna Phum has performances every Friday & Saturday at 7.30pm at its theatre.
