CKS is seeking an Instructor for the:
‘Southeast Asian Studies Curricula Design Program’

Phnom Penh, Cambodia
CKS is looking for a suitably qualified instructor to lead its ‘Southeast Asian Studies Curricula Design Program’. The program aims to equip junior lecturers or graduates from Cambodian universities with knowledge and skills to design and develop curricula from a chosen social science, arts or humanities discipline related to Southeast Asian Studies.
The Instructor will be responsible for the organization of a 13 week program of regular lectures, seminars and interactive group sessions focusing on curricula design. By the end of the program participants will have gained a fundamental understanding of how to design curricula for the development of Southeast Asian Studies programs and courses at Cambodian universities. The knowledge and skills gained will be applied to help improve standards of teaching and academic course design.
Assisted by CKS program staff the instructor will be responsible for the program’s organization and academic content including:
- Preparing lectures, seminars, and interactive group work focused on curriculum design in Southeast Asian Studies.
- Selection of relevant course texts and bibliography.
- Participant and Program Assessment and Evaluation.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- An earned doctorate from an internationally accredited university in a relevant social science, arts or humanities discipline.
- Experience of teaching and research in the field of Southeast Asian Studies with a focus on Cambodia, at University level.
- Experience in academic curricula design.
- Excellent inter-personal skills, including cross-cultural communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience of working with Cambodian or Southeast Asian academics at an early career stage.
- Familiarity with the Cambodian higher education system.
- Experience of working in Cambodia and Southeast Asia.
- Khmer Language skills.
